What is the Hampstead Authors' Society (HAS)?

The Society was set up in 1997 to provide a professional and social network and forum for creatives in the Hampstead area. Since then HAS has been joined by members from other parts of London, from Oxford, Cambridge and even from France.

What are some of the events HAS has hosted?

  •  readings of both published and unpublished work
  •  book displays of members at local bookshops
  •  talks by a range of speakers from authors of fiction and non-fiction to booksellers, agents, publishers and television producers
  •  visits to places of interest like the new British Library
  •  panel discussions on topical issues about books and writing (some of these discussions are open to the  public)
  •  walks on Hampstead Heath followed by tea and a reading
  •  talks by members at local schools/workshops on researching the internet
